FIXED ROUTE and YOU
Did you know that persons with disabilities are eligible for a discounted fare on the City's regular fixed route bus service? However, City Coach requires proper identification to receive the reduced fare. Click here for a Disability ID Card Application. Transportation Services for Persons with Disabilities
Door-to-door Paratransit service is also available to individuals with certified disabilities. Applications for certification may be obtained at the Public Works Department in City Hall, by calling 449-5170 or by downloading the application here. Reservations for rides anywhere in Vacaville must be made by the close of normal business, the day prior to date of service requested.
All City Coach buses are equipped with a wheelchair lift and a "kneeling" feature. The wheelchair lift lowers a platform to the ground and lifts the wheelchair onto the bus. If you are in a wheelchair, the wheelchair brakes must be in good working order at the time you board a bus. This requirement is for your safety during operation of the lift and during the ride. The lift can also be used by individuals who cannot maneuver the bus steps. The "kneeling" feature is for use by individuals who have difficulty stepping up onto the bus, yet can maneuver the other steps by using the handrails once inside. This feature mechanically lowers or kneels the front of the bus closer to the curb.
Persons with disabilities which prohibit them for using City Coach services may apply for and receive a Paratransit/Special Services Card. This Card allows the recipient to receive door-to-door transportation services. Click here for:

Upon request, appointments can be made for staff persons to provide information about the service and the application process in Spanish.

TAXI PROGRAM
The City of Vacaville administers the Half Fare Discount Taxi Script Program, which provides qualified individuals the opportunity to use the services of Vacaville’s local Taxi Cab company at half the regular fare. Taxi cab services through the use of this program are limited to the city limits of the City of Vacaville and to elderly and handicapped residents in the unicorporated area adjacent to Vacaville's city limits.
Qualifications for the Taxi Script Program:
Age 60 or older, or obtain a blue ADA Eligibility ID Card. Click here for an ADA Eligibility Card application.
