COMMUNICATIONS CENTER (EMERGENCY DISPATCH)
The Vacaville Communications Center is the primary answering point for all
911 calls for the City of Vacaville. The Communications Center dispatches
for the Vacaville Police Department and the Vacaville Fire Department. In
addition, we are responsible for emergency medical dispatch (EMD) within
the City.
Reporting emergencies:
Dial 911 in the event of an emergency only. You will be asked by the dispatcher
the nature of your emergency, the address where it is occurring, the phone
number you are calling from, and stay on the line. The dispatcher you are
talking to will probably not be the one who dispatches Police, Fire, or Medical
assistance to you. The information you give will be transmitted by computer
to the dispatcher who will send out the units. Do not be concerned that
the dispatcher you are talking to is still asking questions and keeps you
on the line. They are updating the dispatcher who has already sent assistance
to your address. Do not disconnect the line until the 911 dispatcher instructs
you to. In medical emergencies the dispatcher may provide directions to
assist the patient until paramedics arrive.
If you are unsure that what you are reporting is an emergency, call 911
and assistance will be given to most critical situations first.
Reporting non-emergencies:
To report a non-emergency please call the non-emergency line at 449-5200.
